_{~The breath from Tempest's muzzle send clouds of steam into the cold autumn air. The mare's delicate charcoal ears swiveled as she entered with Jacquelyn on her back. Her walk turned into a prance before her rider asked for the canter, as even and excited as the rain was that fell around them. The first jump was a spread, seasonably decorated for Halloween. Tempest's eager hoofbeats thundered like the storm above them. One, two, three, four, five... Jacquelyn counted in her head as they closed the distance. Tempest gave one last powerful stride and surged up, tucking her knees neatly as they flew over the poles. The smoky black mare held her ears forward all the time, loving every second of it. Gravity took over again and they landed like rain back on the soft arena dirt.}

Just a short story this time, but I'm so happy to finally be able to do some art again. School started and decided to take over way too much of my life, and then deviantart gave my computer a nasty virus right when my antivirus ran out ...

Anyways, this is Jacquelyn Kenseth riding SR Summer Tempest at the Secret Creek Stud Halloween Competition. I actually had the lines done before I got busy and couldn't come on dA, so I'm so happy to see that the deadline got extended!

I'm so happy with how this turned out - I tried greyscale again, and this time it was really fun and worked! I just realized that I've done a quite similar piece in the past - fun to compare and see how much I've improved! [link] It's also really nice to be drawing Tempest again, the last time I drew her was that ^ deviation. o.o
